Paris Jackson’s Journey of Embracing Her Identity

Paris Jackson, the oldest child of famous singer Michael Jackson, is often in the spotlight. Recently, people have been talking about her racial identity. Paris has light skin but proudly says she is a Black woman. This has brought both support and criticism from others.

Paris was born in 1998 to Michael Jackson and Debbie Rowe. Like her dad, she has light skin, which has made some people question her identity. Michael Jackson’s skin also became lighter over time because of a condition called vitiligo, which causes skin to lose its color.

In 2017, Paris said her dad told her, “You’re Black. Be proud of your roots.” She believes in her Black heritage, even though she doesn’t look like it to everyone. Some, like talk show host Wendy Williams, have criticized her, but Paris’s story shows that how someone identifies is personal and should be respected.
