Jennifer Robyn Bernard, an early star of General Hospital who played Terry Brock for about six years in the 1980s, died this week. She was found in San Jacinto, California, at 4 a.m. in an open field behind a business, with police using her fingerprints to confirm her identity.
Born on May 26, 1959, in Gladewater, Texas, she launched her career with a role in the 1981 movie Diva. She later appeared in shows like Whiz Kids (1983) and The Facts of Life (1984) and starred in 145 episodes of General Hospital from 1984 to 1990. In 2002, she also portrayed a psychologist in Voices from the High School.
Tributes have poured in from the General Hospital cast and crew, with many comparing her radiant presence to that of the legendary Bobbie Spencer. A touching post remembered her as a bright light and true professional who brought positive energy to the set. Rick Springfield, who played Dr. Noah Drake, described himself as “incredibly shocked and broken-hearted” by her loss.
She leaves behind a loving family, including her daughters Cassidy and Lacey, along with many friends and colleagues who cherished her. Although her cause of death has not yet been released, an autopsy by the Riverside County Coroner is scheduled, and toxicology results are expected in a few weeks. Her legacy as a talented and warm-hearted actress will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
