She Believed The Dog Had Numerous Bites, But The Doctor Examined It More Closely And Called The Police
Hayden Howard was horrified when her English Mastiff, Jackson, came inside covered in what looked like bug bites. On closer inspection, she discovered the terrifying truth: Jackson had been shot multiple times with a BB gun.
Shocked and distraught, Hayden rushed Jackson to the vet, where X-rays revealed nearly 70 gunshot wounds. Bullets were found embedded in various parts of his body, including his eyelid, ear, and knee. The vet managed to remove 27 pellets, but 20 remain lodged in Jackson’s body due to the severity of his injuries.
Police launched an investigation and identified a neighbor as the suspect. A search of the neighbor’s home uncovered a BB gun, pellets, and drug paraphernalia. Assistant Chief Craig Hayes of the Seymour Police Department called it a “very bad case,” stating he had never seen an animal shot so many times.
Despite his injuries, Jackson is recovering, showing resilience and strength. Hayden is determined to seek justice for her beloved pet, advocating for a lengthy prison sentence for the offender and a lifetime ban on owning animals. Her focus remains on ensuring Jackson heals fully and that such cruelty is met with accountability.
