A guy from my old job gave me a lottery ticket as a gift. I thought it was really nice of him. When I scratched it, I couldn’t believe my eyes that it said I had won $10,000! My heart started pounding, and I felt so excited. I thought, “Wow, this is my lucky day!”
Later, he stopped by and asked me if I had scratched the ticket yet. I didn’t want to say anything, so I told him, “No, not yet.” He left, and I was still feeling so nervous and excited at the same time. I kept thinking about what I could do with all that money.
I decided that the next time he came by, I would tell him the ticket wasn’t a winner. I didn’t want him to feel bad about giving it to me if he realized how much it was worth. I figured keeping it quiet was the best idea for now.
Then, I flipped the ticket over to see how to claim the prize. That’s when I saw the truth that it was a prank ticket! It wasn’t real at all! I felt so relieved that I found out before he came back. It was pretty funny looking back, but wow, what a trick!
